Who is Penelope? Penelope is a role portrayed by a local in Roseville, a barista - who will be invited to play a role as the Game Portal host inside the YBR. This is a role that was inspired by an encounter with Emma Roberts while driving in Los Feliz, California. Louis listened to her talking with her friend, her mother, and her boyfriend, and then with him for half an hour in West Hollywood traffic. Louis noticed how different she acted with each of the people she spoke to, and then when he talked to her and discovered her authentic personality. Louis did not recognize her as Emma Roberts initially, but he started to come to the realization in the last five minutes of the ride where he was admittedly a little nervous about the encounter. He made a conscious effort to remain calm that he was meeting someone he had seen in many photographs, videos and television shows. He found the real Emma Roberts to be much more impressive than her on-screen presence. For one, she initiated the conversation with Louis, and was very curious about him - she complimented him, giggled continuously at what he said, then before she left, she sat in his car longer than he would expect, and just stared at him, waiting for him to turn around. Louis didn’t though because he was too nervous because he realized it was Emma Roberts, and it was the second time he had seen her in person like this…the first time had been in Paris in 2015 in the 10th Arr. -- he had noticed her looking at him from across a restaurant -- and when he noticed she kept looking at him, like she wouldn’t stop looking at him until he heard a voice behind him say, ‘That’s Emma Roberts.” And now…here she was again, and she was very playful, and happy - and he had had an unexpectedly good time with her, out of nowhere…and she was looking at him intensely in his car, not leaving…and he didn’t look back. He just waited until she finally said, “Bye.” And he waited for her to exit, walking in the same direction of traffic, she looked at him through the windows into the building. It was “as if” every time he ran into Emma Roberts -- something would happen -- and there would be one more time…that’s how he wrote the role of Penelope -- because Louis knows every character has to have an origin story…and most definitely, Penelope was inspired by Emma Roberts IRL character he met twice, and maybe never even meet again…but it was enough, enough to inspire Penelope - a role for a
